It just so happens that one of my favorite people to talk Cannabis genetics and breeding with is my good friend Jackson from Freeborn Selections (aka @Meangenefrommendocino).
One of Northern Mendo’s most respected and admired, Jackson’s work and genetics are known far and wide around the globe, and he’s one of the most knowledgeable and insightful people you will hear speak about Cannabis. Many of you also already know he’s also an all around stand up guy and valuable contributor to his local community in Northern Mendocino county.
Owen from Good People Gardens has an extensive seed collection of Freeborn’s work and has been growing and making selections from the Cherry West lines for the last several years.
Cherry West is a descendant of Cherry Limeade, which Jackson swept the 2015 Emerald Cup with, winning 1st place Sun Grown, and 3 out of the top 20, in a year with over 850 flower competitors, the most ever entered.
Good People Gardens recent selections of Cherry West bc4 males from 100 seeds were used to pollinate some of our best cuts at Rebel, including a few award winners.
For our collaboration with Freeborn Selections, a % of the proceeds from sales will be donated to a local community organization selected by and on behalf of Jackson and Freeborn Selections. Laytonville Healthy Start Family Resource Center.
(These seeds are not fully tested, however all female receivers are well vetted plants from worked lines)
Double OG Chem #15 X Cherry West bc4
(Double OG Chem 15 (Doc15) Is the winning cut for Rebel Grown. It recently won 1st place Sun Grown at the 2023 Emerald Cup, as well as the Breeders Cup award. It is the only plant to win the Breeders Cup 3 times, first in 2018 as a seed plant, then in 2022 and 2023 as a clone. It also won 2nd place in 2018 and 2022.
The smell and flavors are the best blend of OG, Chem, and a little authentic Sour gas fuel we’ve found in years and years of selections.
